Impact Roof Maintenance can keep your roof in top notch condition. Here are some of our services in more detail:

Gutter clean

Gutter-clean-vac-systemOver-flowing gutters and blocked downpipes can not be an unsightly mess but can also to long term damage if left unchecked. In addition to the roof and walls of your house, paved areas can deteriorate quickly if subjected to a ‘waterfall’ of a blocked gutter. Our gutter clean is inexpensive and effective. We use a commercial gutter vacuum system which allows our operators to work quickly and efficiently around most houses. The system has a video camera which allows us to view your gutters and ensure we do a great job for you. While at your property, we will also give your roof a quick visual check to ensure there are no other issues that need to be brought to your attention. Moss and lichen roof treatment

Lichen-roof-strip-paint-clean
An example of lichen damage. This roof now needs a repaint.

Every type of roof will have some moss or lichen on it which will eat into the existing coating of your roof and lift it off leaving patches of roof almost back to bare metal. Left untreated, moss or lichen can cause expensive damage to a roof. Our moss treatment has no harsh chemicals and is biodegradable so no damage will be caused to your gardens.

  • It is applied at low pressure soaking every part of the roof
  • Over time it will kill the moss and lichen leaving the weather to wash the roof clean
  • We guarantee our moss kill will clean your roof or we will do it again for free (Offer only valid 12 months after application as in some cases it may take up to 12 months for the roof to become completely clean)
  • The treatment we use is environmentally friendly being both biodegradable and bleach free

Repoint roof tiles

Roof-re-pointing-tile-ridgelineIf you have a concrete tile roof, your hip and ridge capping should be inspected for damage. Broken roof tiles and damaged capping will compromise your roof’s weather resistance and may lead to water pooling in your ceiling cavity.
We use a high-pressure cleaner to clean your hip and ridge capping, we then remove any loose mortar. All capping is then replaced with Flexipoint – a permanent flexible concrete roof tile painting mortar. It is coloured to the best match of your roof and will not fade.

Recoat / repaint

All coatings fade and break down eventually. Even concrete and clay tiles have a protective glazing that can fail over time allowing the tiles to absorb moisture, thus creating an extra weight load as well as moisture transfer into your roof space. Long run iron roofs will fade over the years leaving your home looking tired. Moss and lichen damage can also accelerate the damage to painted long run iron. Whether you have long-run, decramastic or concrete / clay tiles, we can recoat or repaint your roof to get your house waterproof and looking new again.
We will carefully deal to any structural issues first (loose flashing, broken tiles, lifted nails etc), mask non-paintable areas of your roof line, and then apply the coating or paint after suitable preparation coats (if required). All work is carried out with the use of correct safety equipment to ensure there are no mishaps.

Chimney Flashings

Our chimney flashing solutions ensure no more leaks.

Chimney flashings can be another cause for roof leaks where the work is not carried out properly or water pools behind chimney and either rusts the roof out or penetrates the silicone.
We remove the old flashing and run a flat sheet from under the ridgeline of the roof down the chimney flue. This provides a flat surface to put in a rubber flashing and water will now not pool behind the chimney.

Replace / repair

If parts of your roof need replacing we will, after consultation with you, repair and replace long run iron, decramastic or concrete / clay tiles. This is often a precursor to a recoating or repainting and will ensure your new-look roof not only looks great, but it is structurally excellent as well. Other reasons to replace parts of your roof may include the removal of solar panels, aerials or other fixtures, a renovation that requires a roof-line adjustment, or damage from falling branches or other objects. Denail

Loose nails on a roof are the most common cause for leaks and damage to your roof structure. All old nails are carefully removed. If rust is present, the nails are wire-brushed then rust treated. Tek screws are then used to refix your roof.
